Visitation hours are from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 14, 2005 and a funeral service will immediately follow at the Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 1589 Colonial Blvd. Entombment will follow in the Memorial Gardens.1

HOUGHTON, WILLIAM H., 82, of Franklin, N.C., and formerly of St. Petersburg, died Sunday (May 28, 1995) in Franklin. Born in Mulberry, he lived here for 34 years before moving to Franklin in 1981. He retired in 1973 from the U.S. Postal Service, St. Petersburg, and was foster parent, with his wife, to 107 children over 15 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a life member of DAV and vice commander of the American Legion post in Largo. He belonged to Star Lodge 76, F&AM, Largo, and was a deacon and Sunday school teacher at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church.
