KIRKSVILLE, Mo. Edward Basil “Casper” Christman, 65 of Kirksville passed away Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Northeast Regional Medical Center. The son of Basil T. and Marion Geraldine (Summers) Christman, he was born January 16, 1948 in Chicago, Ill. On October 4, 1992 in Kirksville, he was united in marriage to Jenny Houghton. Edward is survived by his mother, Geraldine Gingerich of Kirksville; three children, Dawn and Andy of St. Joseph; Joe of Kirksville; one brother, Don (Cheryl) Christman of Kirksville; two step children, Matt and Jeff Rusk; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter.

WINNEBAGO, Neb. — Mae Sharpback Houghton, 72, of Winnebago died Tuesday, April 25, 1995, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness. Services will be 2 p.m. today at the Reformed
Church in Winnebago, with the Rev. Darrell Da1m a n officiating. A wake and visitation began Wednesday and will be held until today at the church. Warner Earth is in charge of the wake and visitation.
Mrs. Houghton was born Sept. 7, 1918, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Fourcloud) Sharpback. She married Louis C. Houghton Sr., Oct. 26, 1946 in Pender, Neb. She was a housewife and seamstress. Mrs. Houghton was a member of the Reformed Church. Survivors include two sons, Charles Sharpback Sr. and Louis C. Houghton Jr., both of Winnebago; two daughters, Elizabeth Flores of Winnebago, and Marilyn Curry of South Sioux City; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Reynolds of Winnebago; a brother, Stanley Sharpback of Bloomfield, Neb; and three nephews and two nieces. She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; two grandsons, Brandon and Scott; and three brothers, Clarence, Ervine and Sterling.
