Houghton, Grace E. (1876? - 23 JUN 1913)
From the Tacoma (Wash.) Daily News of June 24, 1913, the following item was taken: "Mrs. Grace E. Houghton, age 36, wife of Ira Houghton, died yesterday of tuberculosis at their home at American Lake. She had lived in Tacoma seven years, coming from Wisconsin. Surviving members of the family, besides her husband, are her mother and two sisters, living at Bellingham, a sister in New Jersey, a brother at Seattle and one at Maple Fall, Wis. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock, from the chapel of George W. Piper, South Tacoma. Rev. J. W. Carter of Ashbury M. E. Church will officiate. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery."
Mrs. Houghton, whose maiden name was Grace Judkins, was an Alma Center young lady, and after her marriage with Ira Houghton, they made their home in Humbird, Clark County, Wis. several years. Their home has been in the state of Washington for some time.
