She is survived by three nieces.

Biography

He grew to manhood in Glover Twp., attended the academic dept. of Knox College, Galesburg, IL. and high school in Abilgdon, Ill. He aided his father on the farm until his death, then succeeded to the homestead, where he bought and shipped stock and managed his farm property and were he he resided until 1896, when he built a large residence in Woodhull, IL. He was a farmer and stock raiser on Sect. #20. He owned 3 farms of 625 acres in Clover Twp, and was one of the most successful stock raisers in the county. He annually shipped about one hundred carloads of stock to the market in partnership with John Sketlar, a Democrat. He was a Republican. He organized a company (with W. C. Stickney and F.F. Bell) which is the present owner of the Woodhull Electric Light Plant. It was put into operation in 1900. He cast his first vote for U.S. Grant in 1972 and was one of the leading citizens of the community. He was called upon to fill official party positions and was for four years an influential member of the county board of supervisors, serving on the committee of claims the entire timee. His wife was a member of the Presbyterian Church.¹¹
