ObituaryNov 24, 2005Terre Haute, IN, USA, Horace G. Houghton, 93, of Brownsburg, and formerly of Jasonville, died Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2005.

He worked for 35 years as a lineman for Cinergy, retiring in 1973. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Houghton.

Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie Reynolds and Carole Chittenden; two sisters, Barbara Plants and Gladys Lammey; four grandchildren, April Harvey, Kari MacKenzie, Holly Fantozzi and Cory Johnson; and five great-grandchildren. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a member of Lawton St. Christian Church, a 50-year member of Jasonville Masonic Lodge 530 and member of Jasonville American Legion. He was also a lifetime member of Jasonville Lions Club.

Services are 10 a.m. Saturday in Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, with a graveside committal at 2:30 p.m. in Lebanon Cemetery in Midland. Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. Friday in the mortuary.

ObituaryDonovan, Ill. - Betty H. Webster, 86, of Donovan, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at Merkle-Knipprath Nursing Home in Clifton.

She was born Wednesday, February 3, 1926, in Fairmont, the daughter of Leonard and Edna Blakely Houghton.

On February 23, 1947, she married Dale Webster at Donovan Christian Church; he survives in Donovan.

Mrs. Webster graduated from St. Mary's School of Nursing in 1947 as a registered nurse. During her career, she worked at several hospitals including Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Provena St. Mary's Hospital, Riverside Hospital, and Hackley Hospital. She was a very active member of Donovan United Methodist Church, member of the Ford-Iroquois Home Extension, and member of the Quilter's Club. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, gardening, and especially reading.

Also surviving Mrs. Webster are five sons and six daughters-in-law, Bryan and Michelle Webster of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Thomas and Marian Webster of Donovan, Kevin and Kathy Webster of Martinton, Leland and Diana Webster of Sheldon, Bruce and Teresa Webster of Martinton, Mary Jo Everroad of Bloomington; one sister, Marianne Seibring of Watseka; 18 grandchildren, Mark (Tina) Webster, Kristin (Chris) Ishmiel, Jason Webster, Nicholas Webster, Amy Webster, Tammy (Pete) Grzelak, Corey Webster, Carrie Webster, Kelly Webster, Zachary (Megan) Webster, Mitchell Cambridge, Mason Cambridge, Travis (Shannon) Cambridge, Lindsay (Matt) Maple, Teri (Nick) Tincher, Landon Webster, Andrea (Barry) Wilson, Emily Webster; 17 great grandchildren, Carissa Webster, Zeph Webster, Catlyn, Cacie, Samantha Ishmiel, Joel Ishmiel, Carrington Grzelak, Brendan Grzelak, Reno Webster, Waylon Webster, Charlie Cambridge, Addisson Cambridge, Haven Maple, Tayla Maple, Colbi Maple, Dirk Tincher, Liberty Wilson, and Tucker Wilson; one great, great grandson, Jude Wild; and many nieces and nephews.

ObituaryRalph Edward Houghton, 90 passed away at 12:40 PM, September 24, 2013 in Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, Indiana.

He was born November 8, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana the son of Frank and Alma (Poff) Houghton, who are deceased. He was united in marriage to Zulema Delilah Carroll, who survives. They celebrated 71 years of marriage this year.

Ralph faithfully served his country during World War II (Jan. 1943 – Nov. 1945) in the United States Army as a Sergeant in the Northern France Central Europe campaigns under the command of Dwight D. Eisenhower. He was wounded in Brest, France August 27, 1944. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, two Bronze Stars for meritorious achievement in ground combat against the armed enemy during WWII in Northern France. He received the WWII Victory Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Combat Infantry Badge. He is also an Honoree Charter Member of the World War II Museum in New Orleans, LA.

Ralph was a very happy, loving, and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He loved to laugh and to tell jokes, and he was a great traveler with his life-long wife, companion, and friend, Zulema.

He was part owner and dedicated worker at the Pyramid Oil Company in Etna Green, Indiana for many years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Etna Green and an Etna Green Volunteer Fireman for numerous years. He also belonged to the Masonic Lodge, Ancient Scottish Rites and the American Legion.

Surviving is his wife, Zulema, two daughters: Dianna Holderman (Dean) of Bremen, Indiana, Connie Armey (Roger) of Warsaw, Indiana and a son Rick Houghton (Delia) of Paw Paw, Michigan, a sister, Shirley Houghton of LA Habra, CA. Also surviving are children of Dianna and Dean; Lori, Tammy, Christopher, Cheri and Tara; children of Connie and Roger: Michelle, Melissa, Scott, Kristy, Kimberly and Kayla; and children of Rick and Delia; Steven, Amy, Rebecca and Mark. Also surviving are spouses of the grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, and his special kittens; Chloe and Molly.

Ralph was preceded in death by his sister, Alice (Houghton) Singleton (Vance).
