He was born ca.1773 [calc.from g.s.] Mass [1850 census], to utterly unidentified parents.He, then "of Ringe" was married 4 September 1797 in Phillipston, Mass. to Susannah Gallup. [Phillipston pub.v.r. show this marriage to "Lucy Gallup but after twenty years or so I decided it had to be wrong, and went to the Boston Public Library and looked at their fiche of the original, handwritten P.V.R., and the original is "Suzy" which had been misread as "Lucy."]"⁹
