Burlington - Pat passed away peacefully at Twin Lakes Retirement Community, March 31, 2015.
A native of Rochester, N.Y., she was born to Donald and Amy Houghton. She attended Mount Holyoke College and then, while working at Eastman Kodak, met her future husband, Ned. She pioneered the first group home in Ithaca for retarded adults. After that she served on the Hospice Steering Committee from 1979-1982, and was Chairperson in 1980 when the first Tompkins County Hospice Program was started. After those accomplishments she enjoyed many years in Chatham, Cape Cod until relocating to North Carolina in 2001 to be closer to family. She was a kind, loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Pat was predeceased by her husband, Edward Joseph Trethaway, who passed away in November 2012.
