BiographyHe grew up in Arlington and Acton, Mass. and graduated 1950 from Phillips Academy, Andover, Mass. He received his BA in Economics from Cornell University, Ithaca, NY. He was employed 1956-1973 by Owens-Illinois, Inc., Toledo, OH in various financial capacities and in various locations. He married on August 2, 1957 in Jefferson City, MO, to Barbara Sue Fife. He received his MBA in Finance from University of Toledo. From 1973 to1997 he was employed in start-up and subsequent management of joint venture company Terumo Medical Corp., manufacturer of syringes, needles, cardiac catheters,and blood oxygenators. He retired 1997 as CFO. In 2004 he resided in Landenberg, PA, Just across border from Newark, DE. His interests included sailing, skiing, travel, music (primarily classical) and history/family/genealogy. He was a member of Mayflower Society, New England Historic Genealogical Society and several boating organizations. "Both of my parents and my paternal grandmother were deeply involved with family and genealology. They spent many hours in libraries studying vital records and in tramping through cemeteries looking for ancestors. I guess some of it rubbed off on me. I have inherited their records and files, including a copy of the 1912 volume. I had always been told that it contained a number of inaccuracies, and my copy has quite a few pencilled corrections and additions."3

BiographyRobert Houghton was born in Boston, Suffolk County, Massachusetts, July 25, 1934. He was the son of Hayward S. Houghton and Marian Elizabeth Holden Houghton.

He was married in Germany about 1959 to Ingeborg Renate Schmidt. They were divorced about 1975.

Robert was career Air Force, spending 30 years at various stations around the world.

He died in Aniwa, Langlade County, Wisconsin, January 16, 1988. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetary, Littleton, Middlesex, Massachusetts.
