Biography

Steven Blake Houghton: Albert Allison Houghton had a 2nd wife named Ethel (her 2nd marriage as well). Ethel had a daughter named Mary (from her first marriage). Ethel was instrumental in helping my father, Lloyd Blake Houghton, Jr., get into Henry Ford Trade School. Both my father and my grandfather worked for the Ford Motor Company their whole lives. Also of interest is that Albert Allison Houghton wrote two books titled: "Concrete from Sand Molds" and "Concrete Monuments Mausoleums and Burial Vaults".⁷

Biography

Laura moved to Limon, CO, when 15 years old. As a girl, the family camped at the Breaks (north of Limon). The family would drive the wagon team 20 miles to the rocky outcropping. In order to go to school, Laura boarded in Limon. She later worked at the Grier House (a RR eating house). She was sent to Rock Island, IL, for training. She ran the dairy while Rodney worked on the RR. She delivered the milk to town. In 1930's they lost the family homestead because they did not have $35 to pay taxes. She then worked as a cook for many years at the Cozy Cafe in Limon. They had 8 children.¹

Robert Gordon Morrison: Rodney came to CO with one of his brothers who had consumption in the early 1900's. He never became a US citizin. He worked on the Rock Island Railroad as a brakeman. An accident forced him to retire about 1955.¹
