William Houghton
East Arlington - Funeral services for William W. Houghton, 84, who died Saturday at a local nursing home, will be held on Tuesday at 1:30 pm at the Hanson-Walbridge Funeral Home in Arlington, with the Rev. John Geer of the East Arlington Federated Church officiating.
Burial will be in the family lot in Evergreen Cemetery in Arlington.
He was born in Fitchburg, Mass., Aug 26, 1883, son of Albert and Helen (Seeley) Houghton. He was married to Lillian Pero, who died in 1948.
A lifelong resident of East Arlington, Houghton was a wood-worker and a machinist, and was employed for many years by the Sprague Electric Co. in Bennington.
He was a member of the Red Mountain Lodge No. 63 in Arlington, and the Loyal Order of the Moose in Bennington.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Edward Thompson of East Arlington; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. William J. Houghton of East Arlington; four grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be at the funeral home Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm.
There will be a Masonic services at the funeral home at 7:30 pm Monday.

Mr. Houghton, who also served in World War I. was the officer in charge of reactivating the Opalock Air Base in 1951. He was a native of Boston and moved to Miami 14 yean ago where he resided at 8830 SW 30th St. He is survived by his wife. Amelia; two daughters. Mrs. William McWhorter and Mrs. Joseph Gantier; six sons. Anthony. James. Richard. Jonathan. Charles and Michael, and six grandchildren, all of Miami.

The reason my grandparents were divorced is because Casco was a lady's man & had an affair & 2 children with an Amy .
