Houghton, 92, Grange Citizen of Year GUILFORD Marion Houghton, 92, died Wednesday at Brattleboro Memorial Hospital. She was born June 4, 1897, in Fitchburg, Mass., the daughter of Frederick and Martha Frances (Newcomb) Paulsen. Mrs. Houghton was a member and honorary deacon of the Guilford Community Church, had been very active in the local 4-H Club, and on May 23, 1980, received the Broad Brook Grange Citizen of the Year Award for her many accomplishments in local activities. On Nov. 3, 1928, she married Edward S. Houghton who died Jan. 5, 1978. Survivors include two sons, George Houghton of Guilford, and Harry F. Mass. Funeral services will be held on Saturday afternoon at 2 at the Guilford Community Church. The Rev. Shirley Crockett will officiate. At the familys request, there are no visiting hours at the funeral home. Burial will be in Christ Church Cemetery in Guilford. In lieu of flowers, donations' in Mrs. Houghtons memory may be made to the Guilford Community Church, care of Edwin W. Curtiss, treasurer, RFD 3, Brattleboro 05301. Ker, Westerlund & Fleming Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
