NoteBT, 9/34: maiden name probably Rachel Pike; BT, 3/34: Was she the wife of Henry Houghton and after his death did she marry a Timothy Pike, and die in 1805 at Framingham, MA

BT, 1/39: Rachel, was a cousin of Comfort Pike and her husband, who in later years went on the bond of Elijah Houghton when he wished to settle in another town; the Aaron Pike, who maried Comfort Pike, was her cousin, Aaron being the son of Jeremiah Pike, whose aunt Naomi Pike, was married to John Gibbs. Aaron Pike, also had a sister, Comfort, who married Deacon Gideon Haven. Aaron Pike had a brother, who married Rachel Gibbs, his cousin, after 1742, and had a Naomi in 1742 or 1743. The Comfort Pike who married Aaron Pike her cousin was the dau. of William Pike, whose grandson Ebenezer Pike, Jr., had a son, Elijah, born in 1768.
"From what I can gleam, Aaron and Comfort Pike, who had no children of their own, adopted or rather raised Elijah Houghton...I believe that Rachel Houghton was a Rachel Gibbs, who first married --- Houghton and when she was married to Timothy Pike, a brother of Aaron Pike, gave to the childless couple Elijah Houghton. However the books state that rachel Gibbs married Timothy Pike..."
